Popeyes opens in Wolverhampton on 30 October

Popeyes has confirmed its first Wolverhampton restaurant will open on Friday, 30 October at 25-26 Dudley Street, per the Express and Star. The American chicken chain already operates in Wednesbury, Merry Hill and Birmingham, and launched its first UK site at Westfield Stratford City in 2021.

Tom Crowley, CEO at Popeyes UK, said the brand is "incredibly excited to be opening our first restaurant in Wolverhampton and can't wait to welcome the local community through our doors."

For vendors selling into hospitality, a confirmed opening date is a concrete buying window. POS, payments, workforce scheduling and delivery integration suppliers now have a named site, a named operator and a deadline. Popeyes UK runs a growing estate in the West Midlands, and each new location repeats the same technology stack decisions.

Amber Beverage UK enters administration

Amber Beverage UK, the British distribution arm of Amber Beverage Group, has entered administration after becoming insolvent, per Vinetur. BDO was appointed as administrator last Friday, and redundancies were being made across the company. The business had ceased operating in the UK.

Pavel Verblyudenko, managing director of Amber Beverage UK, confirmed the appointment to Global Drinks Intel, adding that the company's lender had agreed to the step and that control had passed to the administrators.

Amber Beverage UK handled domestic sales and distribution for Amber Beverage Group and Stoli Group, and had operated in the British market for more than 25 years. Its collapse means hospitality venues supplied through ABUK now face interrupted stock lines and renegotiated supplier relationships. For vendors, that is churn: merchants will be reassessing their drinks supply and, in some cases, their broader procurement stack.

De Kuyper swaps UK distributor

De Kuyper Royal Distillers is to move its exclusive UK distribution from William Grant and Sons to Disaronno International from 1 February 2027, per The Caterer. The change takes effect in just over three months.

A distributor swap of this scale forces every De Kuyper stockist to update ordering, invoicing and delivery workflows. Suppliers selling adjacent services into those venues, from inventory management to e-procurement, get a natural re-evaluation moment when the new distributor's systems come online.

Rational lands care home kitchen deal

Rational has provided two iCombi Pro ovens and an iVario bratt pan to Barchester Healthcare's Farley Gardens care home in Bracknell, per The Caterer. Head chef Peter Nash said the equipment cut preparation and cooking time by about 30%.

Nash said the kit "makes your day-to-day work a lot easier and a lot faster. The end result is a lot better too."

Care homes are a quieter corner of hospitality catering, but equipment refreshes there follow the same logic as hotel and restaurant kitchens. A proven 30% time saving is the kind of figure Rational's sales team will reuse, and competing equipment vendors will need an answer to.

Starling's 17-second fincrime agent

Starling has deployed an agentic financial crime investigator that can carry out an end-to-end transaction monitoring investigation within 17 seconds, per Finextra. The agent is embedded natively in the bank's core engine, not a third-party plugin, and Starling owns the data and the model.

Bernadette Smith, Starling chief customer and banking officer, said: "The future of Financial Crime compliance isn't bigger analyst teams or faster rule engines, it's native, AI agents working in milliseconds."

For hospitality merchants banking with Starling, faster fraud decisions mean fewer held payments and fewer false declines at the till. Payment providers selling into those venues should expect Starling to market this as a merchant-facing advantage, and rival acquirers will need to match the speed claim or lose the comparison.

Evervault launches Browser Tokens

Evervault has launched Browser Tokens at Money20/20, giving developers a way for AI agents and browser automations to make purchases without exposing payment cards or passwords to the agent or browser provider, per Finextra. The tokens are short-lived and format-preserving, and the product is live for Evervault customers today.

Shane Curran, founder and CEO of Evervault, said: "Agentic payments are just payments. AI agents will only become useful in commerce if they can act without becoming another place where sensitive data is exposed."

For hospitality ordering systems, this removes a technical barrier to letting AI agents place orders on a customer's behalf. POS and online ordering vendors that want to support agentic checkout without building their own tokenisation layer now have an off-the-shelf option.

A note on Peach Data

When openings, administrations and distributor swaps reset the supplier map, the first mover is the vendor with current, verified contact data. Peach Data provides TPS-screened contact data across thousands of UK hospitality venues. peachdata.co.uk
